I wanted to post it here, so I wrote to the author, Dr. Karl Paulnack, Director of the Music Division at Boston Conservatory (where, as it happens, my grandmother went to school).

1-21-09 | Someone commented on my Facebook “wall” today that my “personal information” page was a little lean. I looked; she was right: it was blank.

12-21-08 | It’s snowing. I look out the window and see nothing but a white blankness, the indistinct motion of flurries, and the stark, hazy outlines of branches and thickets.

12-11-08 | I was on the phone today with an author. We’re writing a book together. His original outline was structured in two parts: Part I taught a set of laws, and was called “Principles.” Part II was called “Practices.” Aha, there was the problem right there: thinking that people would actually read Part II. They won’t.

11-26-08 | This week Alabama blogger Mark Clement posted a brief and very nice review of The Go-Giver. (BTW, so did MJ DeMarco’s well-read blog “The FastLane to Millions.”) As I scrolled through Mark’s most recent few entries, I noticed the one below, and just had to pass it on.
